Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to study the sensory processing disorder that reflect particular behaviour among autism. Based on the study, Short Sensory Profile (SSP) was used mutually with and Child Behaviour Checklist 1.5-5 (CBCL 1.5-5) to examine the relationship. Method:' a total of 104 respondents from around Malaysia aged between 1.5 years old to 5 years old participated in this study. Both of this questionnaire use Likert scale. Result: All of Domain from SSP shows a positive correlation with the CBCL domains except the visual/auditory and the aggressive behaviour respectively within the value of (P= 0.190-0.431 ). For independent samples Kruskal wallis test, result shows that there is significant different between Taste/Smell with Somatic complaints of CBCL domains, Movement with emotionally reactive, anxious/depressed, withdrawn, attention problems, aggressive behaviour, other problems, internalizing and externalizing of CBCL domains, Under responsive with attention problems of CBCL domains, Auditory with emotionally reactive, anxious/depressed, withdrawn, other problems, internalizing and externalizing of CBCL domains, Energy with emotionally reactive, anxious/depressed, somatic, withdrawn, attention problems, other problems, and internalizing of CBCL domains This study presumes that the positive correlation between sensory processing disorder and the child behaviour checklist domain is an alarming issue which needs further investigation.
