Abstract
LRT systems are typically small networks of one or two lines extending from the city centre along radial roads from the suburbs. The absence of integration with existing transport system namely feeder-bus. Their catchment area is confined to passengers within walking distance from the station. Without integration, the LRT network is stranded from most of the public transport network and most of the city, and it attracts a relatively low patronage. In addition, integration offers the potential to extend the catchment to those who live away from the stations and near the urban area and who offer the "mass" ridership which is necessary for viability. In this study, feeder-bus services covering major housing areas, school areas and other shopping areas in Gombak East. They ply within the new residential areas or school areas for passenger collection and distribution to/from the bus interchange and also for local travel within the areas.
