Abstract

The aim of this study is to find the perceived benefits of music education among secondary music students. The research was being done in quatitative form, and the respondents were total number of 112 music students in SMK Cochrane Perkasa, SMK Seri Mulia and SMK Cheras. The study focused on two purposes, which are: To find out the musical benefits of music education among secondary music student and to describe the non-musical benefits of music education among secondary music student. The research instrument was the questionnaires that were distributed to all the respondents from different gender, age and music instruments. The result from this study showed that there were 4 aspect that became the contributor for benefits of music education which were, social development, personal development, musical development and academic development.
