Abstract
Borescope is widely used in various fields such as medical, engineering and also construction. For the medical field, the application of borescope is when the doctor needs to observe the inner organ of the patient such as lung surgery, stomach and other. Besides that, the application for engineering fields is when the aeroplane engineer wants to do some maintenance work to the plane by checking if any crack and leakage exists, and for the construction field, the borescope is used when the survey want check and identify the causes of the defect such as at
ceiling, major crack, gap and system piping. Type of borescope has three type, rigid, flexible and video borescope, in building inspection use video borescope because to identify causes of defect. The video borescope also can snap the picture and record the video, in this way, the building survey also easy to do analysis with evidence of strong through picture and video that have been done. To application video borescope at the defect, the
type of defect must major crack 10.00mm – 40.00mm and gap between other joint and element. The result and finding of the inspection were then assessed and analyzed
using “Building Assessment Rating System (BARIS)” and real picture was taken from borescope LCD monitor to determine the severity level of the defect
