Abstract
Our research encompasses the study of the new amendment to the Evidence Act 1950 pertaining Section 114A of the Evidence Act. Section 114A deals with alleged illicit or harmful content on the Internet. This amendment raises many critics from the public and as a result, the public urges repeal this new provision as it brings more hassle than good. However, in the state's perspective, the amendment enables law enforcement officials to swiftly hold someone accountable for publishing seditious, defamatory, or libelous content online. This research is to critically analyze what is Section 114A all about and to know the true reason for this amendment. Positive and negative feedback from this new amendment will also be included in this research.
