Abstract
Akeanon is a distinctive language spoken in different dialects spread in geographical locations in Aklan province in Panay Island, thus, Akeanon Buruangganon, Akeanon Nabasnon, and Akeanon Bukidnon dialect variations emerged distinct from the standard Akeanon spoken in the central town of Kalibo and its neighboring municipalities. This descriptive qualitative cross-sectional study utilizing documentary and content analysis aimed at establishing the dialects spoken by Aklanons from different municipalities in the province. Specifically, it determined the morphological features of Akeanon language, ascertained the different variations of common Akeanon dialects in terms of structure, word order and affixation, and looked into the morphological variety of common Akeanon dialects. Results revealed that most dialect statements in the Akeanon language are expressed with endearment and warmth, with respect and assurance. These statements expressed in the Akeanon language followed a pattern in an inverted order from the normal word order of spoken or written English. There were reduplication of base words, and affixations using circumfix or confix. Most of these affixes were derivational morphemes. Structure variations were also observed where a bound morpheme in one dialect changes in another dialect
