Abstract
Kuala Selangor District Council was formed in 1978 through Legal Notice 18/78 Selangor. It is a combination of five local councils, namely Majlis Tempatan Kuala Selangor, Majlis Tempatan Tanjong Karang,Majlis Tempatan Batang Berjuntai ( Bestari Jaya ),Majlis Tempatan Ijok,Majlis Tempatan Jeram. Next, in a period of 25 years after its inception, MDKS has undergone a series of expansions in the area began with the proclamation of the area as shown in the plan news PW 459 gazetted on 6 February 1978, followed PW 646 on 15 November 1986, PW 981 on December 1, 1994. The last expansion of the area through PW 1414 on 25 February 2006, which covers the entire area of the Kuala Selangor District. MDKS administrative area includes the small towns such as Kuala Selangor town, barrels, rafting, Assam Jawa, Bukit Rotan, Seri Setia Tiram, Tanjong Karang, Sungai Beard, Sungai Bilis, Bestari Jaya, Kampung Kuantan, Sungai Buloh, sand miners. Also involved is a new development areas such as Puncak Alam, Desa Saujana Utama and Coalfields. The area of MDKS is 119,452.46 hektar.
