Abstract
This study aims to improve English major undergraduates’ translation skills through the university English broadcast. The study employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology by assigning English major students to go to the local communities in Chiang Rai Province to gather data from the villagers, particularly the news or activities of the villages. Five villages were selected regarding the volunteering agreement. Students are required to bring the news from the villages to translate into English and broadcast through the university on air live on Fridays. The contributions of the study are to promote the community tourism promotion in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand and to make databases of the information resources for the tourists. At the same time, students have gained experience in dealing with local people, translating resources that they have got from Thai to English, and doing English broadcast through the university on air live.
