Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate factors that affect the performance of music education students in a semesterly course (MUF401 - 671 Forum) in the Bachelor of Music Education (Honours) program offered at the Faculty of Music, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). The rationale for undertaking the study is due to students having to repeat their performances, sometimes up to three occasions each semester. Many students do not pass their performance the first time round and as a consequence, they have to repeat their performances in order to eventually pass the course each semester as required in the regulations. Additionally, a new regulation imposed by the Faculty from the September 2012 semester allows students to repeat only once each semester. This study seeks to ascertain the impact of this new regulation on students.
