In my practical place, Balfour Beatty Ansaldo Systems JV Sdn Bhd which is run of project Northern Electrified Double Track Project between Ipoh to Padang Besar, distance 329 kilometer issued by Ministry of Transportation, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha on 2006. Then, this company is joint venture of the two shareholders which are Balfour Beatty Rail SdnBhd and Ansaldo Systems (STS) Malaysia Sdn Bhd in
order to finish this project. Next, this company is operating since January 2008 until completion construction in the end of this year 2014, while for maintenance period it is taking around 2 years and this project is categorized as a mega project in Malaysia. Besides that, Balfour Beatty Rail 1s the international engineering, construction, services and investment group, where the Balfour Beatty Rail has
received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to implement the rail electrification and power supply systems package for the Ipoh to Padang Besar Double Tracking Rail Extension in Malaysia. Then, this project, which will be worth £160 million to Balfour Beatty Rail, will be executed through its Malaysian business, Balfour Beatty Rail Sdn Bhd, in joint venture with Ansaldo STS. The value of the systems package to the joint venture is in the region of RM 2.0 billion (£300 million). The project involves the design, supply and installation of electrification, power supply,
signalling and communications of new double track. When completed, the new project will increase line speed and track capacity while enhancing safety.
