Abstract
Wet markets are an important source for people to get the daily food requirements. Diversity of functions of wet markets also contributed to the factor of damage to the building. Therefore, this study was done to see to the management of the operating methods of the Local Management (PBT) in Shah Alam, Klang and Petaling Jaya. In addition this study is to identify maintenance problems at the wet markets operating under local management in Selangor, in particular the problems arising from the failure of maintenance, the use of building materials that do not fulfill the function of buildings and lack of knowledge about aspects of maintenance also led to failure of the wet market. Three methods adopted to carry out this research, namely through interviews and question and answer session with local authority, the second method using a query by a list of questions prepared and presented to the user , wet markets include dealers and buyers. The third method used is through the researcher observations of the wet markets under the scope of building surveying. Data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Sciences). The results showed that the level of comfort and satisfaction at wet markets and damage often synonymous with the wet markets Is important for the management of a project focuses on the issues of maintenance realize early to reduce the problems mentioned above.
