This issue arose due to the arrangement of the streets, the layout designed of the buildings, and other outdoor space which summed up the level of criminal activities. Therefore, the responsibility and awareness of the town planners, architects, and developers to undertake the precaution during the development of the areas are much needed. The research aims to study on the awareness of the crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) and understanding the application of it. Thus, to identify the strategies of CPTED, and to identify the benefits and barriers of CPTED in the construction industry. CPTED should be introduced in the construction industry to help reduce the crime rate and fear of crime.
