Jabatan Pengairan Dan Saliran Daerah Klang/ Nur Adillah Khairuddin

As a student from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) that is just finish semester four in Diploma in Civil Engineering, I need to go to the industrial training. This report describes my industrial training experience. I spent my internship period at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (DID). The organization responsible in framing out water, drainage and irrigation system in Malaysia
and responds to any complaints by the customer. DID also play a role legislate Construction law to help checking the development whether it is following the characteristic that have been decided by the government as compulsory. I was placed under DID of Klang district in Selangor state, which is just responsible
to Klang area. After eight weeks, that is similar to two months I undergo Industrial Training in this Department of Irrigation and Drainage Klang, various knowledge about the real-life experienced and skill question able in studies. At first, I did not want to do my industrial training in DID because I thought that nothing is related to civil engineering except Basic Hydraulics
subject. During my internship, I realised that my first expectation is so wrong.
DID also handling projects involving construction of bridge, floodwall and retaining wall. The projects are majorly purposed for preventing flash flood. DID also involve in the inspection for any housing or development projects.
This knowledge can be made as a foundation to prepare trainee face the real world of works after end the diploma level studies in this institution, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
