My name is Muhammad Shazni bin Mohamed Salikin student in civil engineering from UiTM Pasir Gudang. It is an obligation in UiTM from faculty of civil engineering to have their industrial training after finish their semester four. The placement of industrial training was chosen by the students after observation have be made at some company by the students. The purpose of the industrial training is
to expose students to the reality of employment and to increase their knowledge on how to manage the organization in company. It also opened their eyes to apply the theory that they have learned in universities to their
real life.
Student also can gain many soft skills by develop positive personality during the industrial training session which are critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork skills, manage work ethic, leadership skills, and entrepreneur skills. The industrial training also can be a platform for students practice their knowledge in real life. Student will understand about the truth of the civil engineering works and how they are working
My industrial training was held at Jabatan Kerja Raya Daerah Muar. This is a government company that give many types of services either to the government or to the peoples. The main function of this company is about any type of construction and maintenance. For example, bridge, road and building construction, and also maintenance. This is why this company was chosen by me because I can learn many types of construction which is not include in my diploma syllabus like bridge construction, road construction and any type of maintenance.
During my industrial training, I was placed at three different
department as told by the district engineer. The three department are road department, maintenance department and building department. During my industrial training, there were few members from other universities or colleges that having their industrial training too. But the period of time having the industrial training are different from others universities and colleges. But, the aim we are going to go to the industrial training still same
