Abstract
In this paper, we will be discussing about the relative declining of total fertility rate (TFR) in
Malaysia since 1987 up to 2017. This phenomenon has become a problem today as it is
concerning about the size of population that has shrink almost triple times since 38 years ago
today. Given that the population of Malaysia has double since then, it is really interesting to
see how the total fertility rate in the country has greatly decline to the lowest rate ever recorded.
Thus, we will look further into the reason of the declining total fertility rate in Malaysia and
whether there are significant relationship with the variables. The researcher will also be using
Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method to regress all data to interpret the findings. At the end of
the paper, there will be a relationship between numbers of labour employed in professional
career, numbers of labour employed with tertiary education, household income and housing
prices.
