Abstract
A school resource centre is known as an important place to enhance the teaching and learning process. However, the school resource centre is not functioning well presently due to certain circumstances. In fact, the teachers and students also do not use the resource centre effectively.
The study was done in S.K.Rantau Petronas and some teachers and students were selected as the samples for the study. The researcher had distributed questionnaires for them to answer and made a few interview sessions. From the findings, the researcher analyzed and found that, the school resource centre is not in proper condition and has to be developed in order to encourage the teachers and students to use it effectively.
The researcher revealed that the main factors, which caused the problems, are money and time constraint.
The Education Department also has to look into the education system and modify whatever necessary, to enable the teachers and students to make use of the resource centre. Besides, the school administration has to take immediate action to maintain the resource centre and to inform the school society the importance of a school resource centre in enhancing the teaching and learning process.
