Abstract

This paper explores the significance of melodic special devices of 'Matahariku' song by Agnes Monica and. The main aim of this research to study the melodic structure of 'Matahariku' song by Agnes Monica. This study is performed to help the students by giving the knowledge on how the melodic and phrasing structure can improve the music students ability especially the composition and voice students. On the other hand, it is also can enhance the music students by gaining the knowledge on what melodic special devices that can be used to create a song or a piece. This study was conducted by doing the transcription based on the original song on Youtube channel.The data that was collected involved the observation on the rhythmic structure, melodic structure, instrumentations, forms and arrangements. It is hoped that the study will contribute to the improvement of creating a new song especially to the composition students and singer students and manage to use the melodic devices in a piece or score.
