Awareness among zakat payer on zakat income in Kelantan / Hanisah Rahin

Zakat is one of the sources of funds available within the Islamic economic and financial systems and has become a part of ijtima’ studies, although it is obligatory for Muslims to contribute to zakat. However, the amount collected is relatively very small compared to the income tax collections. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the zakat payment behavior among employees and thus tries to understand their underlying
motivation. The objectives of this study are to determine the level of awareness that influencing the payment of zakat on income among employees in Kelantan, to analyze
the attitude of zakat payer to pay zakat on income, to determine the level of income that influencing the payment of zakat on income among employees in Kelantan and to
determine the level of knowledge among employees to pay zakat on income. For the research methodology, researcher developed questionnaire which use primary data. By
having that data, the researcher uses the spss to find the result. The three variables are attitude of zakat payer; level of income and level of knowledge have relationship
between the awareness of zakat payer to pay income zakat. Then, when use Pearson Correlation to test the hypotheses, show that three independent variable have significant
with awareness of zakat payer to pay income zakat which is attitude, level of income and level of knowledge
