Abstract
The objective of this research is to study the relationship between public confidence towards RMP in crime prevention at Sungai Petani, Kedah and the factor influence which are effectiveness in dealing with crime, community engagement in crime prevention and fair treatment in dealing with crime. A total respondents of 100 of public at Sungai Petani, Kedah were selected to fill the set of questionnaire that consists of five sections which are demographic Information (Section A), public confidence towards RMP in crime prevention (Section B), Effectiveness in dealing with crime (Section C), community engagement in crime prevention(Section D) and fair treatment in dealing with crime (Section E). The data was analyzed with statistical analysis such as Descriptive Statistic and Pearson Correlation and Multiple regression from Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)version 24. The result indicates that there were positive correlation between variable: effectiveness in dealing with crime, engagement with community in crime prevention, fair treatment in dealing with crime and dependent variable: public confidence towards RMP in crime prevention at Sungai Petani, Kedah. This study recommend that the law and enforcement agency should provide a reward in order to encourage the participant from public, cooperation from NGO, community sharing input, and role of media. In future, this study is more focusing on selecting the suitable term and consider another factor.
