Abstract

Every year, million of young Malaysians leave home to attend college at hundred of institutions, public and private. Far too often, these eager, bright young people, many of them away from home and family for the first time, move into college residences that can be hazardous to their health. Because of these, several people stress that college administrators are going to be challenged to find housing for all of these students. To overcome this problem many universities build a high-rise building to for occupied their students. This is going to create a challenge in ensuring that adequate levels of safety are maintained. Fire protection system is one of the steps forward for the building management to look for. The implementation of such system need to be realised sooner rather than later. The person involved need to be well equipped with knowledge and skills to handle the safety of person in the building. However the big question is how ready we are? This research attempts to show the awareness of means of escape among the students in university dormitory college.
