A study on the importance of production planning in an automobile industry / Hashiroh Omar

This exercise is aim to study the importance of production planning in Daihatsu (M) Sdn Bhd. In order to identify the impotency of the production planning, several interviews and observations had been carried out to the related person in Daihatsu and SMA. This exercise is attempt to identify the flow of the CKD until CBU and try to analyses which part of the process is giving a big influence to the ineffectiveness of Daihatsu production planning. From this recommendation can be made to upgrade the related activities to production planning and an economic ordering quantity of the vehicles parts can be done in future time. Hopefully this exercise can give some ideas and countermeasures to Daihatsu and SMA in upgrading their performance to achieve a very efficient production volume whereby the variance between actual and expected volume is small as possible.
