Abstract

Flash flood is one of the most severe natural hazards that can occur within short time dramatically increase river water level. Flash flood commonly occurs in mountainous and hilly areas. This problem occur when changes in land use as a result of increased development activities in a certain area. Segamat city was chosen as study area because it often suffering from flood each years. That have several river flowing around Segamat city which can be a factor of flash flood other than topology, rate of rain, and human activities. This study was conducted by identifying the root cause floods, identifying steps that have been taken to mitigate the impact and deliver the proposal to deal with the flood more effectively.
