The Resident’s opinion on the effectiveness of safety design elements in neighborhood area (Block G, Block H, Block J, Block K, Block L and Block N) at Pusat Komersial, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, Selangor / Nurul Asyiqin Roslan

Lack of quality Safety design elements can further aggravate crime in the neighborhood. Crime problems in the neighborhood can affect the safety of the population. This is not only solved by the police but requires cooperation between the management and the local people. There is need to make an improvement of understanding and potential role also the strategic approach is needed for planning and managing to decrease the common crime cases in the neighborhood area. This research aim is to study the resident’s opinion on the effectiveness of safety design elements in neighborhood area (Block G, Block H, Block J, Block K, Block L and Block N) at Pusat Komersial, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, Selangor. This research is based on data obtained from primary data which is questionnaire survey and secondary data which are articles, internets, books and so on about the safety in neighborhood, safety design elements in apartment building and others. The data was analyses to evaluate and determine the effectiveness of safety design elements in neighborhood area. The result of the study suggested that effectiveness safety design elements is needed for local authorities such as police, immigration and other to successfully make a solution and improvement of management in crime prevention for neighborhood area.
