Abstract

This study is conducted to determine the impact of tourism sector towards the economic
growth in 10 South East Asian countries using data samples from the year 2006 until
2017. This paper aim to identify the significant relationship of number of tourist
arrivals, tourism receipts and tourism employment rate towards the gross domestic
products for 10 South East Asian countries. For this study, Stata12 software is used to
run the collected data. The estimated results show that number of tourist arrivals has a
positive relationship with gross domestic product while there is no significant impact
between the tourism receipts and tourism employment towards the gross domestic
product in the 10 South East Asia countries for the past 12 years from 2006 until 2017.
