Abstract
The provision of public library and children’s playground are the essential facilities for the community use. With the presence of it, the responsible party needs to take into consideration and take steps to ensure the provision of public library and children’s playground are adequate
according the population distribution in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur. My research focus is on the provision of public library and children’s playground to provide the sufficient facilities based on the population distribution by applying the GIS system which is the Mapinfo application. There are three aspects that become the focus of the study which are the elements, the criteria and also the walking distance of the facilities in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur. Furthermore, the methods that I used are observation and survey form. This method I use because it is necessary
to observe the placement and provision of the facilities exactly. The main proposal of the research study are to provide adequate public library and children’s playground and improve the usability of GIS and enhance the use of Mapinfo applications. It is hoped that the proposal are
made to overcome the issues in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur.
