Abstract
The study examines the significant influence between economic variables and number of crimes in Kelantan. The study focused on the relationship of inflation rate, gross domestic product (GDP) and unemployment rate towards the number of crimes in Kelantan. For testing the hypothesis, the study consists of monthly data from September 2012- December 2015 which covered the period of 40 months. E-View was used to analyze the relationship between number of crimes in Kelantan and inflation rate, gross domestic product (GDP) and unemployment rate. The result shows that there is significant relationship which exists between economic variables and number of crimes in Kelantan under this study. Apart from that, the test of hypothesis showed that all of the economic variables indicated a significant relationship with the number of crimes in Kelantan.
