Abstract
This research is a comparative analysis on the laws in Malaysia in governing the transport safety for children where special reference of laws in the United Kingdom and Australia has been made. This study sets out to discover the importance of the safety child car seats by making a comparison with the United Kingdom and Australia. This is due to the fact that the law in Malaysia is inadequate in
safeguarding the safety of children when travelling in cars while the United Kingdom and Australia have governed this matter in The Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seatbelts) Regulation 1993 and the Road Traffic Act 1961. We found that a few loopholes may be fixed in order to make the law governing the transport safety for children in Malaysia more specific and precise. Thus, this comparative study is important in order to determine if there is any drawback of the act in comparison with the United Kingdom and Australia.
