Abstract

The brain is a fragile yet a complex organ in a human body. Its runctions and importance are invaluable for any derect in its metabolic structure would severely arrect one's action, personality, character and behaviour. Yet, the mind itaelr is subjected to diseases and illnesses as other parts or the body do which arrect its normal functioning. Such illnesses or diseases are orten regarded as mental diseasea or mental illnesses. An important area neaded to be ventured into in attempting to establish any causal connections and relationships between mental illness and criminality. Such causal ractors can be grouped into three major parts viz psychiatrical considerations, biological considerations and social enviromental consideratins. Under this chapter, emphasis will be laid on the psychitrical observation as to the dirrerences of mental disturbances in which the magistrates, judges and the Panel juries would have to be acknowledged.
