Abstract

This paper aims at finding out the determinants that influencing the economic growth in Malaysia. The variables considered are Economic Growth(GDP), Exchange Rate(EX),
Inflation rate(IFN), Unemployment Rate(UT), Export(EP) and Interest Rate(IR). Annual data is taken from 1982 to 2013. The data is taken from Data Stream and World Data Bank.
Methodology used for this study is by using Multiple Linear Regression with time series data sourced from Bloomberg as well. The dependent variable is measured by Gross Domestic Product for economic growth in Malaysia. Thereafter, econometric tests are to be conducted
to observe the relationship of the economic variables to the economic growth. E-views would be used for testing and analyzing the data collected. The study is an attempt to identify the determinants of economic growth in Malaysia. The results of this research would determine
which economic variables have significant affect towards the economic growth in Malaysia.
