Competitive advantage in attracting the investors to Melaka / Noraslina Tamchek

The focus of this study is to know the competitive advantage in attracting the investors to Melaka and to study the important factors that will influence the investment growth especially in Melaka. Why the investor from other country likes Taiwan, Japan wants to invest and build their factory in this state. The research objective is to identify the factors that influence the investment growth, to know why the investor wants to invest in Melaka and to know the types of infrastructure that should be offered to attract investors to invest in Melaka. This research use descriptive research design because it would as certain and to describe the characteristics of the variables of interest in the competitive advantage in attracting the investors coming to Melaka. The secondary data were gathered through journals, reports and statistics from the investment amount in certain years and investor company profiles from government agencies. Other information is gathering from Invest Melaka, MIDA, MITI and other organization that have current and relevant data. From the throughout analysis the conclusion that can be made is the competitive advantage that Melaka have in attracting the investors are because of the excellent infrastructure, strategic location and low cost in doing business in Melaka.
