Abstract
This study is about the relationship between Proton car sales in Malaysia and some selectedvariables which comprises of interest rate (BLR) and gross domestic product (GDP). The scope of study consists of variables data from 1997 to 2007. The study has been conducted using quarterly basis data that covered 11 years from 1997 until 2007. The purpose of this study is to examine the influencing future of Proton car sales. Four tests of analyzing data are used in this study such as multiple regression, coefficient test, significance test and Durbin Watson. The methodology used for the process of conducting the hypothesis of study is regression analysis using a computer package called Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS).The findings of this study indicate a significant negative relationship between interest rate with Proton car sales but the GDP is not significant in determining Proton car sales.
