The Department of Quantitative Method of UiTM Sarawak organized a one-day mathematics seminar for 112 Form Five students on 17 September 2005. The participants came from Pertubuhan Anak-Anak Yatim Sarawak (Peryatim), Presentran Abdul Taib, Sadong Jaya, SMK Kota Samarahan and SMK Muara Tuang. All the lecturers from the Department of Quantitative Method were involved in organizing this event. The objectives of the seminar are: 1. To motivate and help students overcome phobia in mathematics. 2. To introduce the use of problem solving technique and heuristic strategies in solving mathematics problem. 3. To guide students in using these technique and strategies in answering SPM mathematics questions. 4. To establish a good working relationship between UiTM Kota Samarahan with other educational institutions.
