Abstract

School of Civil Engineering's (SCE) educational outreach program featuring the Bridge Battle Competition alongside knowledge-sharing activities for secondary school students. The initiative was designed to foster interest and enhance practical understanding in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), specifically within the field of civil and structural engineering. Through hands-on bridge design and testing challenges, participating students applied fundamental principles of physics, mechanics, and structural integrity, while complementary interactive sessions deepened their awareness of engineering concepts and career pathways. The findings highlight the efficacy of experiential learning and university-school partnerships in boosting student engagement, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for technical disciplines, establishing a practical framework for future STEM advocacy and youth empowerment initiatives.
