Abstract

This study examines the challenges associated with optimising Industrialised Building Systems (IBS) and lifting Machinery that impact safety within the Malaysian construction Industry. To optimise the IBS precast, a comprehensive strategy is required for both the concrete processing area and the line processing area, such as the Rebar processing area. Developing hypotheses about the impact of optimisation is aided by the ongoing adoption of underlying ideas, such as Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), in the context of safety challenges. The primary objective is to identify any safety concerns with IBS precast goods and the lifting apparatus in the IBS prefabricated processing area. Eight people in Selangor and Johor responded to semi-structured interviews after twelve invitations were sent out for a preliminary survey and collected by using snowball sampling. The results and findings that concentrate on the theme in the safety issues are Material Handling Hazard, Standardisation & Operation Capacity, and Lifting Machinery Safety Gap, which have consequences for worker safety training for the IBS precast products and lifting machinery operations.
