Abstract

Retractable Flexible Hose (RFH) is designed to keep pipes clean in public toilets. Materials used should be easy to maintain. As such, toilets are to be functional, clean, hygienic, accessible, and beautiful for all. Any toilet design should incorporate these basic requirements. For that, observations were carried out with different public toilet users from the users’ perspectives. Descriptives findings show that RFH meets users’ requirement which adopt modern toilet technology as tools in ensuring a hygienic and friendly toilet environment. As can be seen, there are different users of toilets in public spaces and this diversity and vulnerabilities must be considered when making decisions and developing a public policy for attending to all needs. Additionally, the public perspectives are important tool to identify demands and problems as public toilets are the equipment of direct user interface.
