Abstract

Integrating University Social Responsibility (USR) and service-learning into higher education enables institutions to foster socially responsible citizenship while actively contributing to societal development. Academic research demonstrates that student involvement in community engagement initiatives enhances social skills, civic responsibility, and transferable competencies like communication and problem-solving. A practical example includes students from the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation at UiTM Seremban participating in the 2025 Kayuhan Kayak Persisiran Pantai Port Dickson, where they applied academic knowledge in a real-world setting to drive community awareness, capacity building, and social intervention.
