Abstract
The project promotes clothing as a cultural and social identity which is understood to be a part of symbol that can explain a Malaysian identity. Younger generation nowadays tend to accept western fashion rather than traditional Malaysian costumes. Therefore, through augmented reality (AR) technology, a set of 3D virtual display Malaysian traditional costumes are exhibited via indepth exploration of traditional costume culture across Malaysia. Users learn on rich costume information and design elements, and they experience in interactive mode to view the details of it. The project will make a positive contribution to the inheritance, protection and dissemination of Malaysian traditional costumes, while opening up new possibilities for the application of AR technology in the cultural field.
