Abstract

Malaysia has been successful developing country and is forging ahead to become a developed nation in its own mould. In order to be more successful, our nation has to be managed effectively and its weaknesses and shortcomings have to be overcome. A major challenge it has to address in this endeavor is the strengthening of good health. In Malaysia fast food is a popular choice for a quick lunch and often serves as venues for children's parties and family weekend dinners. Fast food restaurants are common in Malaysia's shopping malls and at rest stops throughout the country's highways. This study is conducted to find out the public awareness and perception on fast food consumption. This research is conducted in UiTM, Melaka City Campus. Basically, every public has their right regarding the fast food consumption. There is several significances of the study. In order to reduce the bad implication of fast food consumption on health among public it should be increase the awareness first. The importance of the research is also to find out whether the awareness and perception of public are influenced by the moderating variables such as age, occupation and the level of education. These researches conducted via questionnaires that have been distributed by hand to the public in UiTM, Melaka City Campus.
