Abstract

Numerous researches have been conducted in the West seeking to establish a relationship between organizational variables and job stress. However, a study on stress among teachers in Malaysia, specifically in Sabah, has yet to be developed although it may contribute tremendously towards the field. The present study examined the impact of blocked career and time factor on job stress among teachers in Sabah. 177 teachers from Tawau and Lahad Datu participated in this study. The results reveal that teachers in Tawau and Lahad Datu experience low stress levels. This study also found that there is a positive relationship between blocked career and time factors on job stress and gender has no moderating role on the relationships between blocked career and time factors on job stress.
