UiTMCPP and PETRONAS Chemicals foster technical excellence through Altair simulation training

This article documents and analyzes the execution of a specialized industrial training programme titled "Getting Started with FEA & CFD: Fundamentals and Application Using Altair SimLab," co-organized by the Creative and Innovation Research Group in Automotive and Aviation (CIRAA) under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Pulau Pinang (UiTMCPP) and PETRONAS Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah Sdn. Bhd. (PCFKSB). This high-impact, three-day initiative aimed to upskill twelve technical engineers from PCFKSB in core engineering simulation competencies, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Fluid-Structure Interaction. By integrating theoretical instruction with case-based workflows inside UiTMCPP's computer laboratories and on-site industrial scenarios, the programme highlights the significance of collaborative knowledge transfer frameworks between academia and the industrial landscape. The success of this collaborative framework serves as an institutional reference model for leveraging advanced industry-grade simulation technologies to drive engineering excellence and technical innovation sustainably
