The occupant's awareness towards fire protection system in a hotel

In Malaysia, the fire cases involving hotel is keep increasing from time to time. Fire may occur in the building that will cause in injury, loss of life and loss of property. To prevent this problem, fire protection system is created to be an important element to protect occupant life and property in the case of fire. But, most people do not realize the important of using fire protection system when unwanted situation happens especially in a hotel. Therefore, this study has been developed with the aim to identify the occupants' awareness towards fire protection system in hotel. In order to achieve the aim, three objective for this study are created. One is to identify the main types of fire protection system that commonly install in hotel. Second is to identify the level of occupants' awareness towards fire protection in hotel. The last one is determine the factor that influence the level of occupants' awareness towards fire protection system in hotel. The scope of this research will to focus on the occupants in a hotel around Gombak, Selangor. The methodology for conducting this research involved data collection and analysis of result. At the end of this study, expected findings regarding to this topic successfully and in conclusion come out with the recommendation that every single hotel need to have the fire protection system and they need to know how to apply it.
