The architecture of Bank Indonesia buildings in various parts of Indonesia is generally dominated by colonial and modern styles as a legacy of the Dutch colonial period. As part of the national cultural heritage, these historic buildings should be preserved. However, amidst the dominance of foreign architectural styles and preservation challenges, there is one government building in Sibolga City that still maintains local architecture, namely Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Sibolga (Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Sibolga). This building was established in 1978, so it has the potential to be categorized as a local cultural heritage. This research aims to identify and analyze the application of neo-vernacular architecture in KPw BI Sibolga and examine the extent to which the building can represent local identity. The method used is an explorative qualitative research method, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, survey, documentation and interviews. Data analysis was conducted based on the theory of neo vernacular architecture proposed by Charles Jencks, by comparing the field findings to the five main characteristics of neo vernacular. The results showed that the design of the KPw BI Sibolga building fully represents the five characteristics of neo vernacular architecture according to Jencks, which is in harmony with the physical form of traditional Toba Batak houses.
