Abstract

This industrial training report presents a comprehensive overview of the internship experience at Infineon Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a leading global semiconductor company. The internship was conducted under the Human Resources People Services - Talent Acquisition Emerging Talent (PS AS TA ET) department. This department is responsible for recruitment, development of new talented individuals, candidate management, and onboarding. The primary aim was to provide students with a realistic exposure to practical aspects of Human Resource Management. Throughout the internship, the intern was involved in a wide range of activities related to Talent Acquisition. The activities involved tracking candidates, confirming documents, facilitating End User Computing (EUC) approvals, and preparations for onboarding, personnel file maintenance, and professional communication with local and global candidates. The internship also offered experience and training in using online Human Resource (HR) tools, particularly Eightfold Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The system is used to ensure that both recruitment and onboarding processes and activities are efficient and accurate and adhere to all necessary regulations and compliance guidelines. This report examines the (HR) practices that are adopted by Infineon Melaka with SWOT as the prime methodological approach. This report is dependent on the secondary data that is available in the Infineon Annual and Human Resource (HR) Reports (2024-2025) and the notes that are taken during the internship. According to the SWOT analysis, the well-structured Human Resource (HR) practices and the favorable environment are the major strengths identified here. The SWOT analysis identifies structured Human Resource (HR) systems and a supportive Human Resource culture as key strengths, while operational challenges such as high workload during peak hiring periods and dependency on candidate responsiveness are highlighted as internal weaknesses. In conclusion, the internship experience at Infineon Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. was an incredibly valuable experience that helped enhance professional skills, knowledge, and preparedness for a career in Human Resource. It provided real insight into the present state of (HR) practices within a multinational organization that helped reinforce the intem's passion for Talent Acquisition. The learning program is exceptionally helpful for academic as well as professional development.
