Abstract
Tenom Agriculture Research Station was started in 1971 as supplementary Cocoa Research Station at Tawau. However, in 1981, the research scope had been expanded to multicrop field research station that covered coffee, cocoa ,fruit trees and food crops, with other Ministry projects that conducted within the station area. The Station was located at Lagud Seberang which was 15 Km to the north-east of Tenom and occupies a gazetted area of 625 hectares, of which 60 hectares are allocated to other project. The terrains and soils of the station are representative of the Tenom Valley with just over half the station on alluvial plain dissected by river cut-offs and ox-bow lakes and the balance consisting of raised alluvial terrace extending the undulating to steep-sided hills with soils derived from sandstones and shales.
