Gender equality: why it matters

UiTM, Faculty of Civil Engineering (2025) Gender equality: why it matters. Bulletin. Faculty of Civil Engineering, Shah Alam.

Abstract

Gender equality is a fundamental human right and a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. This paper highlights the critical importance of ending discrimination against women and girls to unlock global economic potential and social development. It examines how equal access to education, healthcare, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes benefits societies at large. By addressing systemic barriers and empowering all genders, communities can foster inclusive growth, reduce poverty, and build resilient institutional frameworks for future generations.
