Abstract
Sawit Kinabalu Berhad, formerly registered as Borneo Samudera, is the efforts of Sabah state government to encourage the people of Sabah to assume a more responsible in the growth of the state. Sawit Kinabalu was combined with Sabah Land Development Board (SLOB) to achieve a greater efficiency and effectiveness. The combination of these two companies can optimise profits which contribute to the economic growth of the nation. The Sawit Kinabalu Berhad's logo (Figure 1) defines its corporate professionalism and commitment in galvanising a growth. The prominent gold signifies strength and growth into a new era of the Sawit Kinabalu Berhad's diversified activities. Deep red shade of a ripe oil palm seed represents the core activity of the Sawit Kinabalu Berhad's in the palm oil industry. It symbolizes maturity and stability of its operation as it further embarks on a journey towards greater excellence. Since its inception, Sawit Kinabalu Group has since grown greater strength as one of the largest palm oil producers in Sabah. Its carefully shaped and guided performance throughout the years in order allowed the Group to reap and enjoy the success in every operation. The corporatisation exercise has introduced a wealth of opportunities to Sawit Kinabalu Group to face the challenges beyond. Sawit Kinabalu Group has developed strategic restricting exercises that include the training of its employees and productivity in efficient way to achieve the company goals and objectives. These efforts have led to the outstanding performances over the years. In 2009, Sawit Kinabalu Group has focused on its vision, mission and corporative value as part of its performance improvement initiatives.
