Huat Lai Resources Berhad (HLRB) Processing Sdn. Bhd.

During my six month internship at HLRB Processing in the Logistic and Coordination Department, I have gained a very valuable experience that helps to deepen my understanding of the logistic department in a company. I was actively involved in daily tasks such as weighing lorries to ensure the lorry weighed accurately before and after loading the goods.I also learned to handle shortage records by answering driver calls or reply to driver chats through Whatsapp, how to calculate to get the shortage amount and what amount of shortage that cover by the company. I also learned to receive fuel cards and toll cards after the driver finished their trip, monitor ODO meter readings and record it in the book. This gave me an insight into managing transportation accuracy.The most important part is to remark the driver's location for their commission. I have also learned how to calculate the amount that drivers need to pay for their shortages record. This internship helped me improve my skills in operational coordination, especially with documentation and real-time inventory processes. I learned how important it is to receive goods, check for shortages, and maintain a clear flow of information between drivers and the logistics team. These experiences also boosted my confidence in communicating with staff, handling pressure, and making quick yet responsible decisions. Beyond my responsibilities in logistics, I was also exposed to admin task. I learned how to record staff overtime, track public holiday attendance, manage off-day records, and verify staff punch cards. These tasks gave me a better understanding of employee management and the importance of accurate recordkeeping in maintaining fair and organized HR practices. Overall, my internship at HLRB Processing was a meaningful and enriching experience. I’m not only developed technical and practical skills in logistics but also built a strong foundation in teamwork, communication, and cross-departmental collaboration. The exposure to different areas of the company helped me grow professionally and prepared me for future roles in the corporate environment.
