Abstract

Samarahan Divisional Agriculture Office has been established since July 1st, 1986. Samarahan was officially declared as a division on January 1st, 1987. Samarahan Divisional Agriculture consists of four districts which is Kota Samarahan, Serian, Simunjan and Asajaya Districts. Samarahan is the main agriculture area in Sarawak. It is the most important area for the aroduction of agriculture commodities such as coconut, sweet oranges, cocoa, pepper and aroduction of livestock products. Samarahan is presently also a preferred tiger-prawn rearing zone among aquaculture entrepreneurs.
