Abstract

Furniture plays a big part in how we feel at home, how we relax, use space, and show our style. In today’s small urban homes, people need furniture that’s smart, flexible, and lasts longer. That’s why this project introduces a new kind of lounge chair made especially for young working adults who want comfort and usefulness without giving up on good design. Many modern chairs have problems like being uncomfortable, wearing out too fast, or not fitting well in tight spaces. After looking at how people live and talking with adults aged 25 to 35, the designer found that most people want furniture that saves space, is easy to adjust, and is simple to clean or fix. They also want something that looks nice and works well in small homes or apartments. That led to the creation of the OMU Modular Lounge Chair. It’s a chair made with changeable side pieces, a base that moves with your body, and a back that leans at a comfortable angle. It’s built from recyclable materials and made to last longer. If one part breaks, you don’t need to throw the whole chair away; you can just replace the broken piece. One special feature is the modular seat blocks. You can flip them over to make a flat, firm surface. This turns part of the chair into a small table or platform when you need it, perfect for small spaces. The OMU chair is a simple and smart choice. It gives you comfort, saves space, and adapts to your lifestyle, all while being better for the environment.
