Abstract

The implementation of the green building concept for human life creates cleaner and healthier environments for people to live in. However, this does not imply that everyone is interested in implementing the green construction concept by putting it into practice, as numerous obstacles are involved. Notably, insufficient research into the effects of implementing green building practices in the East Coast area has been identified. Accordingly, this study focuses on Kelantan city. The selected research methodology applies a structured interview conducted among the construction players involved in the green building project. The data collected was analysed using an ATLAS. ti tool. The findings show that several impacts of implementing the green building concept are helping to reduce energy and waste, upgrading the construction industry, reducing air or water pollution, and helping to attract professional teams to work in Kelantan, thus, achieving more sustainable development of construction projects in Kelantan city and increasing the supply of local green material.
